Frequently asked questions
Is this image compressor really free?+
Yes. The image compressor is 100% free with no signup, no email, no credit card and no daily limit. There is no paid tier, no trial expiry and no watermark added to your output. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so there is no server cost to pass on.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?+
No. You do not need to sign up, log in, give an email or accept any subscription. Open the page, drop your images in, and download the compressed files. That is the entire flow.
Are my images uploaded to a server?+
No. Your images stay on your device. Compression uses your browser's built-in image encoder via the Canvas API — nothing is sent to our servers, nothing is logged and nothing is stored.
How is this different from TinyPNG?+
TinyPNG limits free users to 20 images per batch and uploads files to its servers. This tool runs locally in your browser with no batch limit and no upload, and supports JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF output formats — all free with no account required.
What image formats are supported?+
Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF and HEIC (auto-converted from iPhone photos). Output: JPG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF (in browsers that support AVIF encoding — Chrome, Edge and most modern browsers).
How much can I compress my images?+
Photos exported from phones or cameras typically shrink by 60–80% with no visible quality loss. PNG screenshots often shrink even more when converted to JPG or WebP. The quality slider lets you tune the trade-off precisely.
Will image quality be reduced?+
JPG, WebP and AVIF are lossy formats — some quality is removed to save space. The default quality (82) is visually identical to the original for most photos. PNG output is lossless but typically larger.
Is there a file size or count limit?+
No hard limit. You can drop hundreds of images at once and there is no per-file size cap. Very large files (over ~50 MB each) may run slower because everything is processed in your browser, but they will still work.
