VSL (Video Sales Letter)
A VSL is a long-form video designed to educate, build desire and close a sale — the video equivalent of a sales page.
A video sales letter replaces a traditional written sales page with a single video that walks the viewer through a structured persuasion sequence: problem, agitation, solution, proof, offer, urgency, call to action.
VSLs are common in info products, supplements, coaching and high-ticket ecommerce. They range from 5 to 45 minutes and prioritise storytelling and objection handling over production value.
In a paid-ads context, a short hook ad often drives traffic to a landing page where the VSL does the heavy selling. The ad's job is just to get the right person to press play.
